1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Mushin, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms may change, but we'll always post the latest version here with the date updated.

2. What Mushin Is

Mushin is a free, open-access web application designed to help you achieve deep focus. It's a tool, not a service with accounts or ongoing obligations. You use it locally in your browser, and we provide the interface.

3. Your Data and Privacy

All data you create in Mushin (sessions, tasks, captures, settings) belongs to you. It's stored locally on your device, and we have no access to it.

You are responsible for backing up your data. We recommend using the export feature regularly. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, your data will be lost.

4. Use Rights

You can use Mushin for any lawful purpose: personal productivity, work projects, education, commercial work—whatever helps you focus. There are no restrictions on use cases.

5. Prohibited Activities

Don't do these things:

• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or exploit vulnerabilities in Mushin
• Use Mushin to store or transmit illegal content
• Attempt to impersonate Mushin or claim you created it
• Use automated scripts to abuse the service or interfere with other users
• Redistribute Mushin as your own product without attribution

6. No Warranties

Mushin is provided "as is" without any warranties. We've built it with care, but like all software, it may have bugs or issues. We're not responsible for any data loss, productivity loss, or other damages that might result from using (or being unable to use) Mushin.

In plain English: We hope this tool helps you, but we can't guarantee it will work perfectly 100% of the time. Use good judgment and keep backups of important work.

7. Limitation of Liability

Since Mushin is free and we collect no revenue from you, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us: $0. We're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Donations

If you choose to donate to support Mushin's development, thank you! Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. They don't entitle you to additional features, support, or any other benefits beyond our deep gratitude.

9. Changes to Mushin

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without notice. We'll try to improve things without breaking existing functionality, but we can't guarantee backward compatibility for all features.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as Mushin evolves. We'll post the new terms here and update the date at the top. Continued use of Mushin after changes means you accept the new terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The Mushin name, logo, design, and code are owned by the creators. You're welcome to link to Mushin, write about it, or share it with others. If you want to build something inspired by Mushin, we're flattered—just don't copy it wholesale and claim it as your own.

12. Termination

You can stop using Mushin anytime. Just close the tab. Your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it. We may terminate or suspend access to Mushin if we discover abuse or violations of these terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Mushin's creators are based. Any disputes will be resolved through friendly discussion first, and formal arbitration if needed.
